Sampled on draft at the House of 1000 beers this beer poured a hazy apricot color with a medium sized foamy off white head that faded quickly and left no lacing. The aroma was sweet honey, bread, orange and clove. The flavor was sweet and tart bread, orange and clove with hints of honey and banana underneath. The finish was bitter, tart and somewhat astringent with lingering orange and banana. Medium body. Ok.

Cask pint: drank in the Brier Rose, Wetherspoons pub in Birmingham, on winters evening early 2007. Dark with an off white head, looked an OK winter warmer. Burnt malts, mushrooms and biscuits dominate the aroma. The beer tasted of burnt malt and nothing else, it was watery and had no depth, not at all what I was expecting, hence the low scores.

Cask at the Fountain, Claverley. Aroma is fruity hops and a little bit of yeast. Pours orange with a small head. Taste starts with some orange. Orange boiled sweets and bread on the finish.

Warning! Early amateur rating! On tap at the Sun Inn, Kelvedon. Mid brown beer. Smells and tastes quite distinctly of toffee. A little bitteness in the finish. Toffee beer!

Cask conditioned handpull at The Devereux, Temple. Copper colour with thin beige head. Some good hop, nice enough, some apple. Got this free, really nice landlord. The fruit is interesting, not much of a Xmas beer. Fine, OK bitter.
