Handpull cask at the Grain & Hop Store, Cambridge. Light to mid-gold, clear with a big white head. Leon and honey aroma with notes of grapefruit, peach and sulphur. Very astringent taste with honey and agave sweetness. Short finish with notes of papaya and more honey. The sulphur dominates more than it should, Not the best beer in the world.

10th Nov 2016: cask half-pint (as Blyth Castle Ale) at The Crown Inn, Oakengates, Shropshire. Clear golden pour, light and bright, on top a smooth white head. A decent blend with the hops showing themselves mid sip and subtly in the aroma. easy drinking beer that is not going to test your senses too greatly.

Hand-pulled half-pint on 30th Sep 2016 at the 41st Beer Festival of The Crown Inn Oakengates. Clear light golden pour, a weak but lasting white head on top. Fairly bland, or subtle blend depending on your palate. Not a lot going on really, light floral hop nose and flavour, malts well hidden, but this isn’t bitter either. Let’s just say it’s refreshing and not going to test your senses too greatly.

Cask half-pint in The Crown Inn, Oakengates Shropshire on 17th March 2016. As the name might suggest, this is a golden coloured brew, bright, clear and clean looking with a snow white head on top. Sadly I thought the beer to be a bland blend of weak flavours and aromas, a refreshing summertime throwing beer: not a winters night supping ale.
