Description
The Féculerie farm, erected from the 14th to the middle of the 18th century, in Jandrain-Jandrenouille has been transformed into a brewery since the summer of 2007. Born in 2006, from the infatuation of two university comrades, the original equipment came from the berry brewery. Currently, Alexandre Dumont de Chassart continues the solo project and works to increase the capacity of the brewery as well as the development of new products.

On tap at 3rd Brugs BF. Hazy yellow colour, dense white head. Aroma of funk, a bit of dung in there, passionfruit, light flowery. Flavour is dry and fruity, grapefruit and passionfruit, hay, zesty, yeast, good dryness all around ending in a nice bitter finish. Medium to fullbodied. Beer of the festival for me, excellent stuff.

A better than average saison. Thick, for the style, and full bodied. Lots of yeast in the aroma and flavor. Well hopped. Sweet, and a cloudy yellow appearance.

750 ml. Hazy gold body. Big, white head, mostly lasting. The aroma is peppery with spice, lemon and honey. Notes of toasted grain, flowers, orange and dust. The flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter and moderately acidic. The finish is lightly sweet, moderately bitter and lightly acidic. Dry. Medium body, watery texture that turns velvety in the finish and lively carbonation. This is not overly complex nor overbearing in aroma or flavor. Its strength is in its balance. The finish is especially good -- dry and bitter with citrus and pepper. Excellent.

Bottled. A light golden beer with a thin white head. The aroma is citrusy combined with lighter notes of malt. The flavor is sweet with primary notes of citrus, as well as light notes of malt and hints of brettanomyces, leading to a lightly tart and dry finish.

750 ml capped bottle courtesy of alagnak. Pour is hazed yellow golden with a pure white two inch head. Some lacing left behind as the head falls. Aroma of cilantro, lime citrus and grainy earth. Very fresh, inviting and natural nose. Taste is the grainy malt and wheat, straw and grass coming through cleanly. Citrus is present, but in the background. The yeast expresses as herbal, medicinal and clove. Palate is medium, dry, lively carbonation and a long dry grassy finish. This was very nice with food. Cheers for this one Chris.

Bottle: Poured a clear deep copper/orangey color ale with a medium foamy head with average retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of light funky ester with some typical Belgian malt. Taste is less complex then anticipated with some funky ester and light semi-sweet Belgian malt. Light dry hops are very subtle and somewhat hard to distinguish. Body is somewhat full with average carbonation and no alcohol is detectable. Not too bad but not as complex as I had hoped for.
