Description
Blind Enthusiasm is driven by our passion for great beer and fine food. We brew three distinct types of beer at two locations in Edmonton. We brew crisp ales and lagers as well as complex barrel-aged beers at the Market, located alongside our restaurant, Biera. At The Monolith we’re running one of largest barrel-fermented beer programs in Canada.

750mL bottle, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma is full of wonderful red wine barrel expression, plenty of tannins, big oak, and a solid barnyard funk expression. Flavour matches accordingly, with big red wine tannins, massive oak, and perfectly expressed wild yeast. Wonderful red wine oakiness character that pervades everything. Excellent as usual.

750mL bottle. Pours a mostly clear blonde with a white head. Nice musty yeast character and vinous barrels on the nose. Flavour has a really nice yeast character, very rustic and musty; gentle acidity, woody oak, and a great vinous quality; some tannins. Excellent wild ale.

750mL bottle, pours a hazy golden with a medium white head. Nose has lots of bright barnyard funk, oak, and gentle citrus. Flavour is wonderfully funky and complex, with gentle citrus, lots of oak, and moderate funk. Wonderful complexity, transitioning quickly from funk to citric. Excellent.

Amber. Haze. The aroma shows that dry-hopping right away, the lemon, the brett and leather, pear, wine gums. This is really nice - a lot of brett, wood, leather, again those pear, wine gum, and the citrus accents are pronounced. The finish is big, bitter, bright, complex, this one is awesome. Honestly, one of the best beers out of Canada this decade for me.

750mL bottle, pours a cloudy orange with a small white head, despite the bottle exploding. Nose exudes plenty of floral dry-hopping, gentle tropical fruits, followed by light-to-moderate barnyard funk, and a touch of citrus. Flavour really blends the barnyard funk beautifully with the dry-hopping—really great funk depth, wonderful floral and citric dry-hopping, with a touch of oak in there. Far superior to Nik’s Blend. This is fantastic.

Slight haze, amber, with a thin head. This has a nice earthy character, a bit of stone fruit, orange. On the palate, earthy, more of those citrusy, stone fruit notes, maybe lychee, with a bitter, woody, dry finish. I really like this one.

750mL bottle, pours a hazy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is somewhat sulphuric, with lots of barnyard funk, big dry-hopping, and muddled hay. Flavour has much less sulphuric content and much more tart citrusy, with light-to-moderate barnyard funk, lemon skins, and a touch of hay. Fairly cohesive despite the very low-level sulphuric aroma. Maybe not their best work, but it’s another nice blend.

750mL bottle. Pours a murky gold with a white head. Orange peels, stonefruit, and a tangy, musty yeast character on the nose; a bit of manure. Flavour has a really nice, tangy, musty yeast character, orange peels, lots of mildew. Finishes with an herbal, hoppy, bitter finish. Fantastic complexity, topped off very nicely with the hops. Excellent.

750mL bottle. Pours a murky yellow-gold with a white head. Citrus, stonefruit, and musty yeast on the nose. Flavour has stonefruit, citrus, musty yeast, a bit buggy, dry woody barrels. Finishes bitter and hoppy. Not my favourite of theirs, but very nice.
