Description
Blind Enthusiasm is driven by our passion for great beer and fine food. We brew three distinct types of beer at two locations in Edmonton. We brew crisp ales and lagers as well as complex barrel-aged beers at the Market, located alongside our restaurant, Biera. At The Monolith we’re running one of largest barrel-fermented beer programs in Canada.

750mL bottle, pours an opaque muddy orange with a small white head. Aroma has rich, tart, dry plums, big barnyard funk, and some tannic oak. Flavour is bright, with lots of tart but not acidic plum, gentle funk, some nice bugginess, and a touch of oak. Wonderful bright plum character that somehow avoids being acidic. Complex, wonderfully funky, and masterfully blended.

750mL bottle. Pours murky dull gold with a white head. Rustic, earthy yeast and plum skins on the nose. Flavour has a rustic, buggy yeast character, gentle tartness, juicy plums, and some slightly tannic plum skins on the finish. Very nice plum expression. An excellent, complex beer.

Poured from 750mL bottle (lot code 25039750; 2023 vintage). Lightly hazed gold with minimal white head. Some very feint underlying pinot noir notes with mild mixed ferm quality. Decent.

750mL bottle, pours a hazy golden with no head. Nose has a wonderful wild yeast, semi-fermented out honey—unusual but complex. Flavour is more traditionally musty like a classic lambic, with mostly fermented out honey, barnyard notes, and a touch of leather. Ordinarily, I’m not a big fan of uncarbonated lambic, but somehow this works here, accentuating the honey-like character. Unusual but this is very good.

750ml @ SF shared with almost full gang (missing two biggest guys only).
Aroma: farmhouse notes, a bit of tea notes, still.
Taste: along the same lines.
Overall: good for that it is, quite close to still lambics.

Hazy, pale amber. The aroma has some butteriness to it, with a hint of the pinot noir barrel. On the palate, it's flat. There's a bit of pinot noir, with a light grain. Quite flat. There's a bit of straw character. I'd say one of the beers in the blend has a touch of ropey pedio that they tried to blend out.

750mL bottle. Pours hazy blonde with no head. Gentle floral and oaky character on the nose; very fermented out. Flavour is quite floral and oaky, wine barrel notes. Quite attenuated. Has some characteristics of a(n unblended) lambic, but not quite with the same leathery character. Nice, very solid beer.

750mL bottle, pours a hazy orange with a small white head. Nose has fairly subdued peaches, moderate funk, some earthiness, hay, and light acidity. Flavour has lightly-to-moderately juicy and moderately acidic peaches, very subdued funk, and some hay. Not the most complex funk at first, but it opens up as it decants, and the juiciness also improves. Very nice.

Dull peachy colour. No head. Brett, barrel and peach on the nose. Medium tartness, punctuated by peachy juiciness. The brett slides in there as well as some tannins. The peach is clean, decently bright. Not Floodland bright, but nothing really is.

Poured from 750mL bottle. Hazy blonde gold with almost no white head. Juicy unripened peaches so lower sweetness with nice aroma, some mild tannins from the skin, a nice easy-drinking sipper.
