Description
Blind Enthusiasm is driven by our passion for great beer and fine food. We brew three distinct types of beer at two locations in Edmonton. We brew crisp ales and lagers as well as complex barrel-aged beers at the Market, located alongside our restaurant, Biera. At The Monolith we’re running one of largest barrel-fermented beer programs in Canada.

Poured from 375mL bottle (2020 vintage) w/fiulijn. Hazed gold with minimal white head. Dry brett funk, light oak, hint of the bittering hops, finishes quickly with a light-medium body.

Poured from 375mL bottle (2022 vintage; pkg 2022-07-05). Hazed orangey gold with medium white head. Nice underlying vinous cognac notes, light effervescence, touch of an acetic quality underneath. Decent.

375mL bottle, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma has plenty of floral dry-hopping, some lemony notes, barnyard funk, and wild yeast. Flavour has a wonderful floral English dry-hopping, barnyard funk, and oak. Wonderfully blended, oaky, hoppy finish. Excellent.

375mL bottle, pours an opaque, rusted amber orange with a small white head. Aroma is dominated by the sweet red wine barrels, some rustic notes, and light earthiness. Flavour is somewhat oxidized, with earthy oakiness, some wild yeast, and gentle red wine notes. A bit duller than I assume it was upon release, but it retains a nice yeast character and very soft red wine notes. Good stuff.

Poured from 375mL bottle (2020 vintage; bottled 2020-10-02). Hazy amber orange with small off white head. Soft wine barrel, some cardboard oxidation, mild tartness, oak, wonder if it's age or from before they really started hitting their stride. Average.

375mL bottle. Pours murky dark orange with a white head. Tart red berries, rustic yeast, and light red wine barrels on the nose. Flavour has a tart, rustic yeast character, dried berries, and a light & dry red wine character; finishes dry and woody. Very nice, not super complex compared to some of the stuff they do now, but still a great wild ale.

750ml @ Ryan's.
Aroma: nice funk and rustic notes.
Taste: along the same lines, a bit of nail polisher, slightly aggressive on the acidity.
Overall: enjoyable.

Hazy, dullish pale. Vinous and gueuze nose, lots of complexity. Earthy, soft, sweet, lots of nice grape character and oak tannins. Seems a bit more tart than many of their other beers. But really nice character and complexity to this.
