Description
Blind Enthusiasm is driven by our passion for great beer and fine food. We brew three distinct types of beer at two locations in Edmonton. We brew crisp ales and lagers as well as complex barrel-aged beers at the Market, located alongside our restaurant, Biera. At The Monolith we’re running one of largest barrel-fermented beer programs in Canada.

Pale amber, with some haze. This has a moderate tartness, light lactic notes, with some cherry. There's a bit of woodiness. The base seems like a bit wheaty, tart, some cherry sweetness.

750mL bottle, pours a cloudy dark amber orange with a small white head. Nose has plenty of spicy yeast, cherry skins, a touch of black pepper, and light oak. Flavour has quite a bit more sugars, with plenty of spiced cherry, candied sugar, a touch of black pepper, and oak. I could do with a little less sugar, but the black pepper and spiced cherry are nice. Good.

750mL bottle, pours a cloudy bright orange with a small white head. Nose is full of complex wild yeast, gentle oak, and maybe a touch of white wine barrels. Flavour is much more a function of the wine barrels, with light tannins, oak, and wild yeast. Complex and well-rounded. Excellent.

Hazy, amberish colour. Thin head. Earthy, lemony nose, complex vinous character. Light bugginess, again complex vinous character, light leather and the fruit kicks in with some really nice sweetness in the finish.

750mL bottle. Pours murky dark gold with a white head. Sweet dried fruit skins on the nose. Flavour has lots of dried fruit skins, a bit leathery, some mildew, and some sugars floating around. Moderate acidity, less of which is coming from a good, funky yeast than some of their other stuff. Very good, but not excellent.

750mL bottle. Pours murky dull gold with a white head. Musty furniture, dry dessert wine, and some epsom salts on the nose. Flavour has damp old upholstery, lots of dry must, and pleasant floral accents throughout. Very nice.
