Slightly hazy caramel copper coloured body with a thinnish tan head. Aroma of fresh hops, caramel, sugars, malt and a slight bit of grass. Medium-bodied; Assertive toasted malt flavours, alcohol, toffee and pitted fruits and a bit of hops at the end. Aftertaste shows mostly mild flavours - more of malt than of hops and more of drying than sugars. Overall, a decent beer, but I couldn’t figure out the style from drinking it - a decent beer to have, but I wish I brought another bottle back instead of this one! I sampled this 75 cL bottle purchased from A Tutta Birra in Milano, Italy on 12-November-2009 for €11 sampled at home in Washington (on this side of the pond) on 05-June-2010.

Tasting at Papsø
Cloudy golden color. Light aroma of apricot jam. The body of the underlying Belgian Ale is not very strong, but it’s improved by the residual sweetness of the quince jam; the Ale is quite simple, dry and a bit spicy if possible, the fruit is a nice complement; the alcohol is probably a right target. Not liking fruit beers in general, I have to say that this one is correctly brewed.
