the whiskey and brandy meld immaculately. This is butter whiskey with a slight hint of beer. Oh there is chocolate. Low carbonation. So smooth. Fantastic.

Bottle, 2014 vintage (thanks jinroh). Pours amber. Aroma is fruity, apple puree, malt. Flavor is sweet and malty, caramel, sugar, apples, fruits, malt. Overall: good, but too sweet.

Tap at Bud. Unfiltered Kolsch using Ibuki fresh hops. Hazy gold, shiny, thick medium head. Nose is biscuit, crackers, some pine, grass. Minty, slightly piny flavor, bready malt, a bit sweet. Decent but a bit heavy. Again we see that Ibuki dry hopping gets us nowhere special.

Tap @ Keyaki Beer Festival Autumn 2017. Pours nice golden, grainy, not completely clear, maybe just a bit cloudy. Aroma has nice kettle sour acidity, also grainy and biscuity at the same time, bit chalky. Tastes as a berliner weisse should taste, beautiful sour acidity, grainy and lightly fruity with pears and salt. Did not try the syrup version but the base is definitely very well done, tastes exactly like those style examples I tried in Berlin. Thumbs up!

Draught at the Ichinoseki Beer Fest 2017. Brewed for the event. Belgian Strong Golden Ale. Spicy nose, honey and sweet malt. Got the yeast right. Deep gold with lace. Sweet and malty, honey, lemon, orange. Spicy peppery finish. Oily, full body. The yeast and malts are correct. I would like it a bit drier and with more pronounced hops, but it is a decent take on the style.

Draught at the Ichinoseki Beer Fest 2017. No syrup for me. Pale gold with lace. Tart nose, proper BW style, lactic, lemony. Soft, tart, lactic flavor, lots of citrus. Crisp, soft, silky and refreshing. Very well done.

Medium amber golden color. Big smoky nose with lemon, wheat with a touch of peaches n cream. The mouth is a bit heavy for 3% but still very tart and refreshing with great lingering smokey finish. Nice with salad and seafood.

Slightly hazy yellow, not much carbonation there. Nose is interestingly malty, mixed with some savoury salty notes. Refreshing. Taste has sour acidity but also quite recognisable smoke character. Balance is quite good, not too sour, still feels light and really great way to hydrate yourself and replenish also minerals during a hot summer day.

Tap at Keyaki Spring 2017. Hazy orange-brown with lace. Nose of toffee, caramel, pine, butterscotch. Tongs of toffee flavor, bit of diacetyl I would say, lots of pine, orange, honey, biscuits. Young and oily and probably not ready to be served. Bitter finish. A rather typical American BW that I would like to try again after a few months.

Tap at Watering Hole. Nose of pine, honey, lemon. Big, thick, cloudy amber orange color. A bit peppery, lots of honey, citrus, a bit heavy. Ok. Doesn’t really work, though.
