Bottle from Asahiya, 7% served in a snifter it pours a dark inky black with a slight beige head that disappears quickly leaving a delicate ring clinging to the sides of the glass. It has a rich meaty aroma of chocolate & tangy dark fruits. The body is a bit on the thin side but the mouthfeel is nice enough. The taste is pretty good, dark chocolate, some tart berry flavors & a roasty chocolate finish. Pretty nice, it reminds me of my own Cranberry Christmas Porter...

Bottle - Plum, hay and some spice. Hazy gold with a decent white head. Plum, some dried fruit and spice. Not bad, but not particularly interesting.

lots of dark fruit and roasted malt character but body doesn’t hold the beer together that well and the end result is just average.

Tap at Garage 39. Didn’t realize i hadn’t had this since the brewery change. Fruity citrus nose, some biscuits. Light and clean. Quite fruity flavor, grape, cherry, low carbonation. Ok, but felt a bit too sweet and fruity, especially at first. Later it really grew on me with its dry finish and high drinkability.

On tap at Beer Keyaki Spring 2014. A dark black pour with ruby highlight. The nose is one of roasty malty grains - not bad. Medium to light bodied the taste is bitter dark malts, very roasty - some said even too roasty though most agreed it was a pretty good beer.
