Yorocco x Minoh Plumbon Saison 2021 5.5% A murky orange brass color with a soft umeshu or plum bread aroma. Medium bodied with a soft round carbonation and dry finish that gives a lingering plum peel in the aftertaste.

Bottle from the brewery. Fruity, flowery aroma, ume plums, jasmine, herbs. Flavor is dry, slightly tart ume, and a herbal, grassy character that doesn’t seem to be from the hops. A bit of malt, a bit of fruity sweetness. Unique and delicious.a great summer refresher.

Can from the brewery. Flowery, fruity, spicy nose, hibiscus, lemon, jasmine, strawberry, plum, spicy saison yeast. complex nose. Deep pink color, hazy, with lace. First is a hit of crackery malt, then fruit, hibiscus, herbs, berries, citrus. Finish is crackers, berries, hibiscus, and some prickly hops. Body is silky and full. Could use a bit more carbonation. Hibiscus isn't my thing, but this is well done.

Can from the brewery, mail order. Hazy, bright gold with a tall, airy head. Nose is bready malt, spicy saison yeast, strawberries, lemony hops. There is a bit of stone fruit, some wheat. Lots more strawberry in the flavor, bready malt, very funky yeast, citrus. Pretty interesting stuff and the strawberry works. Nicely bitter, dry finish.

So this year Amber Saved My Life is re-invented as a lager. Can from the brewery, mail order. Bright American dry hopped nose, grassy, citrus, lovely fruits, with a rich, bready, nutty, caramel amber malt base. Smells great. Bright, hazy amber orange with a thick, medium head. Hoppy, toasty, citrus, grass, nuts, bitter finish. Solid. Very solid. Pretty huge flavors all around. Maybe just slightly too bitter, but it makes you want to drink more and more.
