Description
First brewed late 2008 using the name Cumberland Breweries Ltd. Following a take over in 2016, the brewery changed its name to the current version in early 2018. The brewery was part of US-based Alltech Limited before it was acquired by businessman David Corkill late 2020.

Every beer tells a story. We like to think ours will engage you in a complex tale of tradition & heritage with tangible, contemporary notes thrown in for flavour. An anecdote from the dented pewter tankards of old to the sleek modern pint glass of today. Próst!

Foamy white head on a finely carbonated clear pale golden coloured body.
Citrus & dusty aroma.
Medium bodied, smooth with a lively foamy back.
Floral, citrus, berry & page malt tastes with a limp finish.
All rather light & delicate.

Bottle from Beer Ambleside.
Appearance - mat black and opaque. Big tan head.
Nose - coffee bean and milky cold coffee. Some roast.
Taste - milky white coffee mainly. Again a bit of roast and some toffee.
Palate - medium bodied, sweet middle and then roast.
Overall - good.

Cask at Darlington Snooker Club. Gluten Free. Black brown colour, thin beige foam head and aroma of roasted malt, ashy, mik chocolate & coffee. Taste is sweet, dark malts, chocolatey, milky, coffee, with roasty bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, roast bitter finish. Quite drinkable

Cask at Darlington Snooker Club. Gluten Free. Golden colour, white foam head and aroma of light hops. Taste is malt, grain, spicy orange citrus, with mellow hop bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying bitter finish. Quite drinkable

Old rating from 2013 - From the cask at Woodrow Wilson in Carlisle. Pours dark amber with a white head. Aromas & tastes of fruits, caramel, biscuit & malt. Moderate body. Sweet finish

On cask at King's Arms in Stainton - clear yellow, thick lasting white top. Grassy and sweet malts, bit of citrus on the way out.
