Draft - Very light citrus hops. Pale gold with a thin white head. Sweet malts and light lemony hops. Nothing like I would expect. Very sweet and light.

[Thanks to Plovmand]. Hazy orangish colour with a frothy and creamy off-white head with good retention. Aroma has notes of pine, resins and light caramel. Flavor is strong bittery with orange and light citrus notes, moderate malty with slightly caramel. Strong bittery final with a dry mouthfeel.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel Florentin. Thanks Tom L. Dark brown to black, not completely opaque. Nice aroma of chocolate, cocoa and some roastiness. Sweetish flavor with some roastiness, some chocolate and a drier finish with a slight bitter note. Medium-bodied. Not bad.

Bomber shared by Bob at Brian’s tasting. Brown color of course. I get quite a bit of oak dryness and very light whiskey aroma. Sweet malt flavor, some meat. Thick and heavy palate. Aside from the whiskey character, this is much like a German doppelbock.

On tap @ Cranknstein. Pours a reddish brown appearance with a light brown. Quite piney, spicy hoppy, chocolate cookie aroma. Somewhat bitter, very piney, doughy chocolate, moderately roasty flavor. Pretty typical black IPA. One of the better fort Collins brewery beers I’ve had in a while.
