Obsessed Barley Wine from Fort Collins Brewery

Sampled at GABF. Pours a hazy amber with some eggshell head. Boozy nose, malty, tropical fruit, rum, raisins, prunes, caramel. Flavor is sweet, cane sugar, malt, rum, oranges, grapefruit. Full bodied, sticky finish. Good, but I think a bit of aging/cellaring would dry it out and add some complexity.

This lager poured a deep amber colour with a off white, foamy head. To the nose there are scents of malt, smoke and plastic. First taste is crisp and smooth. Almost watery on the tongue. Smoke and malt flavours most prodominant. Finish is smokey with almost like a plasctic flavour lingering.

Draught at the restaurant Gravity 1020 next to the brewery on October 9, 2012Clear dark copper to brown color, brown head. Fruity, malty, sweet, apricot, citrus taste. Medium mouthfeel, medium high bitterness. Sweet, malty scent.
