Description
Hangar 24 began its craft brewing exploration with a true passion for good beer, the absolute love of flying and the pure enjoyment of being around great friends. My buddies and I used to meet at hangar No. 24 at the Redlands Municipal Airport, after an afternoon of flying, to trade stories, talk aviation, play music and share a few cold ones that were recently home brewed. These days, the location of where the beers are brewed has changed, but the quality time spent enjoying a delicious, handcrafted beer and conversation with friends is the same as ever. I personally want to invite you to join the adventure. Cheers! Ben Cook.

750 c&c from Bine & Vine at 11.5%. Pours dark brown black with a creamy/foamy tan head. Lots of booze and chocolate in the aroma. Definitely full bodied. Flavor is dark treacle with arguably more brandy than bourbon. There's a wood note - can't tell if it makes this slightly sourish or slightly astringent. This isn't dry. So much in this that I didn't notice the chocolate for a bit. Also had trouble deciding about lactose, but ok, there's lactose. Also some dark fruit that could be sweet. Raisins? The flavors are complex and reasonably strong. But somehow I'm not as fond of this as of other BA IS ales. Nice change of pace tho.

Sampled @ my one and only THT 2018. Opaque pitch black color, average sized beige to mocha colored head. Aroma is malts, cinnamon, dark malts, dark chocolate, chocolate bitter. Flavor is similar. Heavy cinnamon, maybe over the top but in the end I like it a lot. Quite ok, especially the nice bourbon flavor.

THT July at Kwartje. Bottle thanks to the incredibly noisy benzai. Big sweet deep roasted chocolate malts, massive ginger, nutmeg, spices.
