Description
Hangar 24 began its craft brewing exploration with a true passion for good beer, the absolute love of flying and the pure enjoyment of being around great friends. My buddies and I used to meet at hangar No. 24 at the Redlands Municipal Airport, after an afternoon of flying, to trade stories, talk aviation, play music and share a few cold ones that were recently home brewed. These days, the location of where the beers are brewed has changed, but the quality time spent enjoying a delicious, handcrafted beer and conversation with friends is the same as ever. I personally want to invite you to join the adventure. Cheers! Ben Cook.

22oz bomber pours with a nice opaque deep gold body that has a copper core and supports a near white head. The aroma offers up a mix of juicy smelling mango and tangelo and pineapple and then it gets into some resiny pine hoppiness. The taste starts with a mix of resiny pine hops and citrusy orange hoppiness. Toward midway it picks up spicy onion like hoppiness just as it starts to pick up some citrus hop juiciness. It attains mainly a blend of citrusy hops and resiny pine hops that are just not working together 100%. It’s fine and tasty but it doesn’t come together perfectly.

Bottle @ Steve’s house. Thanks Steve! Pours a touch hazy, reddish orange appearance with a brown head. Caramel, burnt malty, toffee, whiskey, oaky, slightly floral nose. Pretty hoppy flavor. Herbal hops. Chewy malts. Some oxidation. Caramel, a touch smoky. Toffee. Plums. Kind of boozy finish but still a pretty çhïłł beer.

Bottle received in trade. Thank you GT2! Pours pitch black with a frothy and creamy mocha head that slowly dissipates while leaving lots of sticky lacing and trace on the glass. Smell is sweet and malty with roasted malts, high quality dark chocolate, charred wood, caramel, toffee, vanilla fudge, dark roast coffee, toasted coconut, dried pine needles, raisins in brandy and hay. Taste is sweet, slightly bitter and malty with roasted malts, toffee, vanilla fudge, charred wood, toasted coconut, high quality dark chocolate, dark roast coffee, raisins, sweet liquorice candy, chocolate covered cherries, hay and alcohol. Mouthfeel is soft, round, creamy and near full bodied. Finish is sweet, slightly bitter and malty with roasted malts, caramel, toffee, vanilla fudge, dark roast coffee, bitter chocolate, charred wood, toasted coconut, bourbon alcohol, sweet liquorice candy, burnt cookies and hints of coconut milk. Fat, rich, decadent and incredibly tasty!
