Brouwerij Hoegaarden
Commercial Brewery
in Hoegaarden,
Flemish Brabant,
Belgium 🇧🇪
Owned by
Anheuser-Busch InBev
Established in 1965
Since 1985, the brand has been part of Artois brewery, which provided fresh capital, after the fire. After the takeover, the recipe was changed to appeal to a wider audience and save on raw materials. The Artois brewery, which had already been absorbed into InBev (nowadays Aneuser-Busch InBev) for some time, decided in 2006 to close the brewery and move production to Jupille. On September 10, 2007, it was announced that Hoegaarden would once again be brewed in Hoegaarden. The brewery in Jupille didn't manage to imitate the typical taste of Hoegaarden...

Hazy yellowish orange colour with a small white head. Aroma is grapefruits, some zest, mild witbier and coriander. Flavour is coriander, grapefruits, zest, mild lemon and witbier with a bit earthy elements too. Rather watery.

Bottle@Monks Café, Wallingatan. Slightly hazy golden colour with a small white foamy head. Aroma is lemon, lime and some parfumed soapy tones with mild grains. Flavour is pretty much following the aroma hand in hand. Nothing that exciting...

Bottle. Color: Lightly hazy amber, off-white head. Aroma: Malty, hints of stone fruit. Taste: Malty, fruity notes of stone fruit. Hoppy backbone. Moderate sweet and light bitterness. A classic that I haven't had for a lot of years now, but still a quite nice Belgian classic.

Bottle from Josh, thanks for the hookup. Surprised I haven't rated this before. Lightly hazy deep straw color with a fuzzy white head that persists. Spicy cereal earthy with a hint of lemon and a sharp carbonic bite. Solid drinker.

500ml bottle. Russian version. Pours hazy red with a small pink head. Aroma is sweet cherries, wheat. Taste is medium sweet, artificial cherry, wheat. Light bitter finish. Light bodied. A joke version of Hoegaarden.
