Brouwerij Hoegaarden
Commercial Brewery
in Hoegaarden,
Flemish Brabant,
Belgium 🇧🇪
Owned by
Anheuser-Busch InBev
Established in 1965
Since 1985, the brand has been part of Artois brewery, which provided fresh capital, after the fire. After the takeover, the recipe was changed to appeal to a wider audience and save on raw materials. The Artois brewery, which had already been absorbed into InBev (nowadays Aneuser-Busch InBev) for some time, decided in 2006 to close the brewery and move production to Jupille. On September 10, 2007, it was announced that Hoegaarden would once again be brewed in Hoegaarden. The brewery in Jupille didn't manage to imitate the typical taste of Hoegaarden...

14th October 2023 Fuck my old boot! How have I not rated this? Drank gallons of the stuff back in the late 90s and early 2000s. Anyway, a mildly hazy deep straw colour beer with a decent off white head. Smooth palate, mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. Smooth light wheaty malts, sweet enough. Some very mild esters rising in the mid. Marvellous soft floral orange and a little ripe lemon comes through on the back end along with mellow but fruity coriander. Comes together into a smooth finish. A bona fide classic. I really don't give a crap if this is a mass produced macro beer. It was great 20+ years ago when it was on tap everywhere in London and it's great in a bottle now. Could absolutely session this as I have done so many times in the past.

Kolor jasny słomkowy, mętne, w zapachu wyczuwam kolendrę w smaku na pierwszym planie kolendra, goździki, banany i pszenica. Wzorują się na nim nasze rodzime białe pszeniczniaki.

330 ml can, from BilkaToGo, Skalborg. Hazy pale golden colour, moderate white head. Aroma of orange peel and citric acid, hints of baby porridge, wort and apple extract. Medium sweet flavour with the same elements, no sign of coriander, nor any hop bitterness.

33 cl shared can from a COOP 365 discounter. Hazy golden colour with a creamy white head. Sweet aroma with wheat malts, citrus, slightly soapy, some brewing mash. The taste is sweet. Lighter body. Sweet finish with lingering citrus and a perfumed note. Fine for a NA.
