Tap @ Enski Barinn Reykjavik. Ok, this is a wheat beer but not anything like a hefeweizen. More like a belgian strong ale. Somewhat hazy reddish orange appearance with a cream head. Very spicy, orange citrusy, nutmeg (?), clove aroma. Rich blood orange, overripe citrusy, bitter orange, a bit boozy flavor. A little hard to drink and not super refreshing. I was disappointed.

Bottle @ Enski Barinn Reykjavik. Golden appearance with a white head. Straw, somewhat oxidized, grassy, light lemon, somewhat spicy aroma. Fairly spicy yeasty, lemon, hay, paper flavor. Bottle seems to have been improperly treated.

Bottle @ Enski Barinn Reykjavik. Dark orange appearance with an off white head. Citrusy, lightly piney, dull grassy aroma. Somewhat bitter, orange citrusy, a little bready, light herbal hoppy flavor. Nice to see them experimenting but this is just ok.

Canned. Clear deep golden, small head. Grainy and fruity with some spicy hops. Mid dry, some resiny hop bitterness. OK macro pilsener.

Bottled. Clear golden, coarse head. Fruity nose. Mid sweet with medium-light body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Slightly perfumy with low bitterness. Like all Borg beers this comes across as a commercial beer with nice polishing on the surface.

Bottled at Íslenski , Reykjavík. Clear amber, small head. Fruity nose. Mild caramelly nose. Mid sweet with well rounded mouthfeel. Slight notes of butter, but with a general lack of depth in the malt department. Low bitterness.

With dinner in The Laundromat Cafe, Reykjavik. I give some extra credit for the Nordic design bottle. Pours a dark straw body, with foamy head, that leaves a beautiful lacing. Malt with a hint of orange, fruit and hops. I actually liked it best with food. (22.Apr.2011)
