On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger (also available there bottled). Hazy brown colour, low off-white head. Intense aroma of smoke, smoked meat, bonfires and ashes. The flavour is dry and surprisingly refreshing, lots of smoke but not undrinkable (even for me, and I am not the world’s biggest fan of stjørdalsmalt). Won’t be my daily indulgence though.

On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Hazy golden colour, moderate to low white head. Aroma of Belgian ale yeast, with its characteristic mild spicy notes. also witbier-like hints of coriander and orange peel, but I don’t know if they are actual ingredients here. Spicy and medium dry flavour with distinct notes of Belgian ale yeast, again hints of coriander, but not mentionable citrus. Quite refreshing.

Flaske 500ml. Gave fra Rune. Svart med et svakt rødskjær. Høyt, litt farget skum som daler sakte. Tett lacing. God aroma av sjokolade & lakris. Litt røyk. Myk munnfølelse. Smaken balansert. Preget fra aromaen videreføres. En utmerket "porter-light". Litt bunnfall.

Lovely cloudy orange golden color with a fine white head. Lovely lacing on the glass. Very inviting first impression. Well then the aroma…some sour notes hits me first. Then some malty and grassy notes. Fruity? Ehhh….Decent fine body. Moderate sweet and an ok bitterness. Average carbonation. Grassy, mild fruity and herbal hoppy flavor. Nothing I will buy again! Well I did not but it either….

Amber with off white head - good malty aroma with some hints of hops in the back - Nice malt body with some notes of caramel and some hints of piney hops in the back, with a nice bitterness to og along - Finish is malty and piney hops that leaves an olmost dry end - This was nice

On tap at the brewery shop/taproom. A murky brown beer, almost flat. Roasted malts with a burnt touch, some chocolate and coffee and a wee touch of dark dried fruits in the aroma. A distinct smoke note too. It’s not sweet on the palate, not really dry either, but there’s a light almost acidic touch. Roasted malts, smoke and bonfire hints, coffee, figs and some chocolate in the flavor. A little bitterness too, smoothening things out a bit. Full to medium body, soft carbonation. Lasting roasted and smoked finish with dark chocolate and figs. Doesn’t look very good this one, but the aroma and flavor is really nice. Unusual, tasteful and very moreish. Hope I get the chance to have this on another occasion. 140620

Sitrus-floralt, med fin bitterhet og rent smaksbilde. Fizzy ved helling, disig og litt flat ved drikking, men god

50cl bottle from Meny Bjølsen, Oslo. Pours hazy dark amber with a tan head. Medium malty aroma with some roasty notes, quite strong hop presence with fruity, citrusy and lightly piney notes. Caramel, herbs and just a hint of smoke. Moderate to medium sweet with a fairly dry and bitter finish with note of citrus. Nice, flavourfull and sessionable.
