Cask-conditioned at the Green Man, Bristol 27/09/10. Golden coloured with a decent, tight white head. Bready malts, some summer fruits and grassy hop aroma. Sweetish, malty flavour with a hint of earthiness and gentle bitter finish. Ok.

From a polypin at the Portcullis, Clifton, Bristol 13/08/10. Golden with slight carbonation. Juicy fruit aroma of dessert pear and more tart apples. Flavour had the same profile, sweetish pear fruit up front balanced by medium dry apples and a dryish finish. A blend that worked pretty well.

Cask, handpump at The Hop Pole, Aylesbury, Bucks 18.08.10 Pours copper in colour with a few ruby glints showing, good clarity, small residude of what was an off- white head. Good solid malty flavour, rippling but steady bitterness, burnt toffee and fruits also. Very tasty beer, toffee and malt on nose. I really enjoyed this and will actively seek out Dawkins again. Aroma of dark chocolate, mandarins and a touch of lemon, with some toasted malts in the background. Flavour of black coffee and chocolate orange, with more citrus hop character and roasted, dry finish accompanied by a touch of warming alcohol. Very good.
