We, Sharp’s Brewery, are a modern brewer of cask and bottled beer based in Rock, Cornwall, and owner of the UK’s number one cask and bottled beer, Doom Bar. We’ve grown rapidly to become the largest brewer of cask beer in the South West.

Sharp's Brewery was founded in 1994 by Bill Sharp. The brewery has been through three phases – from a small micro brewery, to a larger facility within the same building and finally to the current phase that has seen the Brewery extend its premises to accommodate more vessels and increase its brewing capacity. Since 2011, the brewery has been owned by Molson Coors.

Cask@Anchor&Hope, Salisbury. Dark amber color, small off-white head. Roasted malty nose with hints of licorice. Toasted malty, dry flavor. Some dried fruits and bitterness in the aftertaste.

Bottled. Amber coloured. Slightly fruity and skunky aroma and flavour. Very light and quite thin.

[Cask at GBBF 2005] An orange beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma is sweet malty - but quite light. The flavor is boring with light notes of caramel, leading to a light hoppy dry end.

Cask handpull at Pakenham Arms, London. Golden/copper, thin white head. Citrus minerality on aroma.l Nice hops. Bit thin in mouth, then nice drying earthy finish. Nice session bitter.

Beautiful amber color. The aroma is malty with a vanilla touch. The taste is clean, a bit malty, some caramel and a good bitterness. Strong palate, with a light fruitness as well.

[Cask at GBBF 2005] A hazy orange beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet hoppy, while the flavor is sweet and primarily fruity, but also with hoppy notes and a thin body. A boring IPA.

Draught at the Cob Web Inn, Boscastle:Orangey coloured, thin fluffy head; light bitter-malty taste, light but deceptive bitter-aromatic aftertaste; all in all quite drinkable, but a bit watery........

Cask at GBBF 2005. Golden brown, some hay and diacetyl on the nose, good supping pint though with some sulphur from the Cornish water. 500ml bottle from Franglais, Calais. Filtered and pasteurised. Gold/copper colour with thick lasting off white head. Stale malt, some citrus grassy hops on aroma. Overly carbonated. Some metallic candy sugar flavours in mouth. Finishing hop is crisp and rather nice. Pasteurisation doesn’t help with this beer, but the hop is good. Some creamy vanilla too in the flavour. 5 3 6 3 11

Cask gravity at Kent beer festival. Normally a favourite of mine, but this was very bland and uninteresting. No real hop or malts to overly mention. 500ml pasteurised bottle. Crystal clear deep copper colour with lasting beige head. Boiled sweet aroma and caramel, malt and a bit of hop. I like this on draught, but this lacks the depth in the mouth. Green hoppy finish is very good. Would be better if it didn’t have that hollowness in the middle due to the pasteurisation 3.2

Cask (gravity dispense), White Cliffs Beer Festival, February 2005. Typical taste of Sharp’s if you have had Doom Bar or Cornish Coaster, but this obviously had more of an alcoholic kick. Very good strong bitter
