Cask at Ebenezers, Nantwich. Pours a murky apricot with a small off-white head and good lacing The aroma is mainly mandarin with hints of grapefruit – all somewhat subdued. In the mouth it is sweet, smooth and juicy. Flavour has floral hops, oranges and tropical fruit with hints of grapefruit. Later there are traces of stone fruits leading to a slightly dry finish with a little bitterness. Not the sort of beer I normally go for at all, but this is decent.

Cask at Ebenezers, Crewe. Pours a murky grapefruit with a small off-white head and good lacing. There’s floral hops and citrus in the aroma plus some hints of grapefruit. In the mouth it is sweet and juicy to start off with flavours of lforal hops, tropical fruits and pineapple. After a while some underlying bitterness and traces of lemongrass creep in. Meanwhile the sweetness decreases slowly but there is still a little left in the finish. This is reasonable but not my cup of tea at all.

Keg draught at the Real Ale Classroom, Stoneygate light golden, hazy with a tiny film of white head and uneven lacing. Lovely hoppy aroma, some stone fruit, white grapefruit. Bittersweet taste some oaty character with a serious bitter hop. The bitterness overtakes the rest of the profile in the finish. Light body, low to medium carbonation. Another delicious pale from Two by Two.
