Keg at Hops d'Amour, Coventry. A black coloured pour with a medium beige head on top. It's peanut butter all the way, didn't detect much sweetness. There isn't much else going on in this one. A rather basic brew despite the optimistic price tag in this bar.

Cask at CBC, Covent Garden on 22nd March 2025. Thickly hazy yellowy amber with shallow whitish foam and full lacing. Tropical fruits aroma. Bitter peel in-mouth with juicy citrus fruits. Grapefruit finish. Zingy mouthfeel and a full body.

330ml can. Black pour with beige to tanned top. Aroma is big on roasted coffee beans with a hint of that vanilla as well as hints of malt, caramel and nuts. Taste wise the coffee and vanilla is there but also a surprising diluted herbal and metalic middle to this one and a touch synthetic. Good level of bitterness and body though.

330ml can. Hazed orange-gold with white head. Aroma and aroma has an underripe mango, lime, light funk. It's quite tangy with citrus flavour cutting through notably with a modest bitter-sweet undercurrent. A slight creamy malt with zest and spice hop burst in the finish. Medium bodied, moderately zingy carbonation. Could do with a bit more in the flavour but its a decent tasty haze.

(Draught at Craft Beer Co Clerkenwell, London, 21 Nov 2024) Black colour with brief, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with dark chocolate, coffee, vanilla, oak wood, whiskey and caramel. Malty, roasted, sweet taste with notes of dark chocolate, sweet espresso, vanilla, whiskey, caramel and a balanced cacao bitterness in a sweetish, slightly boozy, finish. Full body, sweet. Thick and oily texture. Ok, it's a bit sweet and boozy, but so rich and tasty with lots of chocolate, caramel, vanilla and a good wood/whiskey touch. Great beer!

Can. Hazy gold beer, small bubbly pale cream colour head. Palate is light and has good fine minerally carbonation. Light smooth pale malts, a pleasing light creamy sweetness. Sabro hops kick in immediately with bright juicy pineapple and a nice coconut vibe. Citra providing juicy bright orange, tangerine and mandarin. Light finish. Lovely! A really nice juicy hop combo. Sabro still has plenty to offer even though it has been, in my book anyway, slightly overshadowed by the monstrous HBC1019.
