Bottle from Best Off Licence, Hanwell. Near black in colour, with a small, beige, head. Light, smoky aroma with some dark berry sweetness. Flavour had toasty malts, more fruits, and a whiff of smoke in amongst a dryish finish. Fine.

Bottle at home in London - picked up at the Drinkers’ Paradise. Pours black-brown with a small, creamy tan head. Nice blend of smoke and roast in the nose, some burnt ham, cocoa. Light-medium sweet flavour with mellow ashy roast, more smoked ham, light bitterness, lightly gooey chocolate. Light bodied with fine carbonation and somewhat velvety texture. Nicely balanced to finish, with some milk chocolate, cured ham, mild ash, cocoa, some ripening berries. Quite a tidy number.

Bottle thanks to cgarvieuk. Appearance - golden amber with a decent head. Slight haze. Nose - orange and cake mixture. Taste - more of the same. Palate - light bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - could be zingier but not bad.

Cask at The Lyric, Soho. It pours hazy amber with a medium off-white head. The aroma is sweet, sticky, juicy pine, tangerine, mango marmalade and bread. The taste is bitter, pine, varnish, grassy, grapefruit, bitter orange, pithy, marmalade, peppery spice, earth and some sweet brioche with a lingering bitter - dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Could be done serving a bit cooler imo. Decent enough cask IPA.

Keg at eebria. It pours clear golden - amber with a thick off-white head. The aroma is toasty grain, bitter - sweet, rich tea biscuit, bread and cereal. The taste is smooth, dry, soft bitterness, toasty grass, earthy, cereal, light spice, wood, porridge and leather with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. OK, yet forgettable.
