Can 440ml @ gunnfryd. Pours hazy pale golden with no head. Aroma has notes of citrus, honey and hint of elderflower. Taste is light sweet and light sour with a long tart citrus, honey and elderflower finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.

Can. An unclear pale yellow colored mead, still and headless. Flowery, lemony elderflower aroma with a touch of honey and spices. It's medium bodied and semi-sweet, yet with an acidic citrusy touch. Still-ish. Elderflower driven flavor lemon, spiced notes, some grass and melon and a gentle honey touch. Medium length finish. Refreshing, but a bit acidic. 241123

Pours dark, browned red. Scent is fleshy, full on intense. Cocoa. lovely. Taste is full, intense cocoa, fruity, decent acidity. Lovely ! I especially found the BA part to be a great enhancer of the mead, way more so than the 2018 version. Apparently, BBA is to be taken loosely, as these aren't freshly emptied bourbon barrels, but rather ex- warpigs barrels, previously containing bourbon. Whatever warpigs has done with it (I assume a very chocolaty Imperial Stout?) works so, so damn well with this mead, that it's way better than the 'false' description of BBA made me assume.

Pours dark browned red. Scent is full on chery, some very mild honey back. Hidden barrel. Taste is sharp, intense cherry, very bready yeastyness. Mushroomy, mild oak. Pretty unique and interesting.
Extra info provided by the meadmaker : This is actually a blend of a session mead, with a 'forgotten' cherry wine by Warpigs' 2nd previous brewer. It aged about 5 years, and was way over the top, but seemed to work in a blend. (providing the mushroomy, bready character I tasted, I assume). Unfortunately, due to the wine being limited in existence, so are the possibilities of making this mead.

Scent is full, passion fruit indeed ! Fun and fresh. Taste is sharp, some fruit acidity, refreshing dryness. milder to hidden on the honey. Medium carbo. Lovely summer fresh fruity mead, though the concept of easy drinking mead is a bit lost to me, as the use of an easy drinker doesn't match the high price a mead costs to me... appart from that, it's a reall good drink for sure.
