Pigs Ear 2025. Gravity. Good fun. Impressions of toffee without the sweetness. Some toasted malts, mild earth hop, biscuit, creamy toffee accents. Fairly dry finish. Nice.

No growing needed with this one, instant exotic fruit notes available, crisp and everything is appealing. It has a good nose in this respect too.

On tap at That Beer Place, Chester. Pours a very dark reddish-brown with a medium sized foamy tan head and good lacing. The aroma has dough, honey, malts and hints of custard. In the mouth it is decidedly sweet, but with a little underlying sharpness and a creamy texture. Flavour has roasted malts, lactose, custard and dough. Finish is chewy and slightly sweet. This is quite nice.

30/10/2025. Cask at Norwich Beer Festival (Castle Social). Good pour. Big sweet chocolate fondant aroma. Very sweet chocolate cake taste. Decent body. Aptly named. Enjoyable but a bit Bobby Ott on the sweetness to enjoy too much of.

Large sample at Ye Olde Fighting Cocks, Oakengates on 29th October 2025. Didn't take to this at all, so couldn't even buy a half. Hazed dull orange, white crown. Tropical fruits with oranges to the fore, all a bit strange, no one else was buying it either!

440 ml can, as Pentrich Buried Slice Raspberry & Blackberry Cheesecake Sour, from Left Field Beer. ABV is 5.5%. Hazy red to purple colour, small and shortlived pink head. Distinct aroma of raspberry and blackberry cheesecake, also lactic acid, no surprises there. Sour flavour with the same elements, also hints of lemons.

Can picked up from Pentrich brewery and posted to Dad's. Had this Tuesday 21st October 2025 after a visit to Stourport on Severn and then Tewkesbury. We had 'Marry Me Pork Meatballs' for tea and then me and Keef went to see Worcester City FC v Bromsgrove Sporting FC at Sixways, Worcester won 3-0. Pours pitch black, shark eye black with a slim beige head. Sticky mouthfeel, bitter, roasty, liquor and then the ice cream party starts but it's actually more bitter and liquorice though the lactose adds a lot. It's a good beer.
