A few minutes after beginning this rich, chocolate heavy black stout I was brought a beer mat by one of the hotel staff, so they clearly like to keep this place up-to-scratch. This is a creamy experience, huge aromas, and the depiction of an Oreo cookie on the pump clip is spot-on.

Cask at PoW Farnborough. Dark with a cola tint. Thin foamy light beige head. Aroma is with underlying bitterness. Milky caramel. Coffee. Initially quite sweet. Followed by coffee bitterness and a light sour berry edge. Thick. Creamy. Sticky. Flat-soft carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Nice if heading towards being overly sweet.

Panda from Colin. Dark hazy gold. Thin frothy foamy white head. Aroma is sweet and fruity with a bitter herbal and slightly vinous edge. Flavourwise it has sweet fruit and porridge over a bitter core. Peripheral sourness moreso into the finish. Medium bodied. Slick. Soft-average carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Good stuff.

Handpull cask at the Real Ale Classroom, Leicester City Centre. Light to mid-gold and hazy with a swirl of slightly off-white head. Aroma on this one is a little quiet - I'm getting a nice jumble of soft citrus and tropical fruits. Oranges, pineapple to the fore. Nicely balanced taste, some bittersweetness, good malt in the background, more orange and pineapple up front. Soft body with little carbonation and a thicker texture than I'd imagined. Another good one from Pentrich.
