Our name comes from the other major landmark of the town, the Torrs - a park set in the 70-foot-deep gorge cut by the Rivers Goyt & Sett, that the town stands above and around, where many of the town's mills used to stand.

GraviCask, shared with Finn at Camra’s National Winter Ales Festival. Coal black body. Dotted spots on the glassware. Smoked dark malty nose, hints of chocolate. Taste of smoked meat added by a touch of cocoa. Mid-sweet malty ending. Like it (The Roundhouse, Derby 19.02.2016).

Bottle. Beer Stop, Dronfield. Clear, very dark brown. Barely a head, but what there is, sticks to the glass. Nose has dark chocolate. Woody, earthy malts. Dark, dried fruit, along the lines of dates or prunes. Not lacking spicy hop. Imperial stout wouldn’t be my first guess. Maybe a bit porter-ish. Taste is fruity, burnt bitter. Bit of sweet on the lips. Feels a little thin. Burnt bitter finish. Not full or rich enough. Overly bitter, too.

Cask at NWAF, Derby, Thursday, 18th February 2016 Pours mid-dark brown with a light beige head or rim to be more accurate. Malty nose with a little back up from the hops More traditional in style than some of the other Torrside beers but no less enjoyable. Caramel, fruit and with a decent hoppy bite, a hoppy flurry at the end. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov14 3.4

Cask at NWAF, Derby, Wednesday 17th February 2016 in the company of Dad and Pauline. Black or is it just V.dark brown, yep brown but with an off white creamy head. Fruity and malty but with a little bit of cocoa in the mouth, though it tends to lean more towards a tartness but with a nice malty edge, quite a smooth beer throughout. Smokiness is present but not as pronounced as the Franconia, like it though.A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4
