Bottle. A mild haze on this amber beer, good pale cream colour head. Airy smooth palate, reasonable fine carbonation. Soft creamy malts. Abundant esters. Caramel and very mild wood. Touch of ripe citrus. Airy light finish. Not for the first time, I appreciate Torrside's devotion to this style but, I just wish they were more consistent at it.

Wigan Beer Festival 2026, Beer#31. Hazy deeper golden coloured ale. This one is hoppy but has a smoked aroma and taste, although this doesn't linger long. Fruits then start to take over.

Wigan Beer Festival 2026, Beer#16. Hazy paler golden coloured brew. Hopped with crisp-cum-watery tropical fruit evident, in both aroma and taste. Good and bad! More on the side of good though.

(Cask at Southampton Arms, Gospel Oak, London, 20 Nov 2025) Golden colour with frothy, off-white head. Hoppy, fruity nose with citrus, grapefruit, resin and pine needles. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of citrus, grapefruit, peaches, resin, tropical fruit, some toffee and a generous citric/resiny bitterness. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Lots of Simcoe character here. Fresh and hoppy. Very nice.
