Our name comes from the other major landmark of the town, the Torrs - a park set in the 70-foot-deep gorge cut by the Rivers Goyt & Sett, that the town stands above and around, where many of the town's mills used to stand.

Bottle from House Of Trembling Madness. Hazy amber body with a few tiny flecks beneath a thin off-white head. No visible carbonation. Patchy lacing. Aroma of smoked malt, dried berries and dried apricot. Flavour of toffee and salted caramel. Medium body with a chewy mouthfeel. Soft fizz. A sweet, smoky beer.

One travel regret I have is I could have seen Fidel Castro on Cuba's annual National Day parade, exactly 24 years ago today, but I had a lie-in, in Havana instead. This beer helps the reminiscing, it's lovely and smooth in the palate, with plenty of body for its strength. Hints of citrus and a mild strewed fruitiness, quite warming stuff really.

Cask at Ealing Beer Fest 25. Dark. Frothy foamy beige head. Aroma combines espresso, charcoal and a berry edge. Flavourwise it's a bitter club over the head. Cold brew coffee and charcoal. Vague berry notes. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long dry astringent finish. Very bitter but lacks nuance
