Description
We've been brewing in New Mills since 2015, based at the Marina and opposite the famous Swizzels factory.
Our name comes from the other major landmark of the town, the Torrs - a park set in the 70-foot-deep gorge cut by the Rivers Goyt & Sett, that the town stands above and around, where many of the town's mills used to stand.

Hazy golden appearance. First beer in a pub that's moved premises - they can no longer market it as 'The Smallest In Halifax '. This first is kept well though, a dominant hoppy character as expected, but tropical fruits available too, most fruity in its aftertaste.

Sheffield CAMRA Beer Festival 2025, Beer#15. Black in colour, smoked mainly, and lingering, but not finding the said chocolate in its notes. Its strength is apparent.

On keg at Steel City 49, Kelham Island - Dark menacing red amber body, thin white head. Lots of smokiness in this, peaty Islay whisky hit, Laphroig-esque, earthy malts. One to savour.

Sheffield CAMRA Beer Festival 2025, Beer#6. Hazy dark amber in colour, perhaps not the most inviting of appearances but it's fuller-bodied tasting, mildly gritty hoppiness is pretty good. Very light citrus notes do provide flavour.

Sheffield CAMRA Beer Festival 2025, Beer#17. Extremely smoked beer, very good in a one-time order, certainly couldn't do too much, especially as this was only a sample and decided not to go with it. Pretty decent though.

The big question whilst I drink this hoppy bitter with a decent head and drinkable texture is, should I go and see The Cheeky Girls, playing in my area on Halloween? Light malts in aroma, and a developing caramel style fruitiness in taste.

Keg at Overdraft Bedford Place. Opaque cola brown. Thin foamy beige head. Aroma is lowest key. Some berries and coffee... I guess. Flavourwise we have tangy berries and coldbrew coffee. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft-average carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Dece.

Bottle from House Of Trembling Madness. Hazy amber body with a few tiny flecks beneath a thin off-white head. No visible carbonation. Patchy lacing. Aroma of smoked malt, dried berries and dried apricot. Flavour of toffee and salted caramel. Medium body with a chewy mouthfeel. Soft fizz. A sweet, smoky beer.
