Description
We've been brewing in New Mills since 2015, based at the Marina and opposite the famous Swizzels factory.
Our name comes from the other major landmark of the town, the Torrs - a park set in the 70-foot-deep gorge cut by the Rivers Goyt & Sett, that the town stands above and around, where many of the town's mills used to stand.

(Cask at King's Arms, Bethnal Green, London, 23 Nov 2024) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted, hoppy nose with notes of chocolate, black coffee, pine needles and grapefruit. Malty, roasted, hoppy taste with dark chocolate, coffee, citrus, grapefruit, pine needles, mint and a generous citric/piney bitterness in the finish. Medium body, quite dry. Hoppy, tasty and well made black IPA. Very nice.

Bottle from House Of Trembling Madness. Hazy amber body with a beige head that holds well. No visible carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of orange zest and glazed cherry. Flavour of orange and golden syrup. Medium body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. Tangy and delicious. Much better than the English Barley Wine 2023, which was disappointingly thin.

Beer number eighteen at the Great British Winter Beer Festival 2025. Last one , strongest one sampled, quite boozy but chocolate dominates its aftertaste and there's a smoothness to its texture.

Beer number sixteen at the Great British Winter Beer Festival 2025. Hoppy effort, fuller-bodied, some floral notes alongside a lasting bitterness.

1/3 cask pour at GBBF Winter. Creamy dark brown pour, ring of beige head. Boozy aroma hits first, bourbon with sweet roasty malts and notes of chocolate. Taste gets really roasty, light smoky flavors, woody, chocolate. Nice big syrupy stout.
