Cask at Crewe Dog, Crewe. Pours almost black with a medium sized foamy cream head. Oats to the fore in the aroma – but not overwhelming. In the mouth it has a rich smooth creamy texture. It starts off being sweet (though a tad watery) with dark fruits as the main flavour. Later on roast malts, oats and a touch of chocolate come through to liven thigns up. Finish is sweet and oaty. Really very nice indeed.

On tap at Ebenezers, Crewe. Pours a murky raspberry red with minimal white head. Aroma is basically raspberries, which also dominate the flavour, with blueberries coming a poor second. In the mouth there is an initial sharpness before the fruit and general sweetness kick in. Sourness comes back in the finish though. Not a fan of this style, but this was quite drinkable.

On tap at Ebenezers, Nantwich. Pours a murky peach colour with no head at all. Nose holds mango and peaches, which carry through into the mouth. Texture is initially creamy, but after a while blood oranges and a sharpness start to appear. Finish is fruity. It’s nice and refreshing, but a bit of a gimmick really.

On tap at Ebenezers, Nantwich. Pours a cloudy golden yellow with minimal head. There is a vague aroma of lemon and biscuits, but nothing much. In the mouth the texture is creamy with flavour of bitter lemon and kveik yeast. Finish is lemon still. It’s OK, but definitely not my type of beer.
