Cask-conditioned at the Bag ONails, Bristol 8/12/08. pale gold with a billowing white head. Big aroma of citrus and floral hops. Flavour began with a touch of sweetish malt, before the hops took over again with plenty of elder flowers, citrus and a decent dry finish. A lot going on for a 3.6% beer.

Cask-conditioned at The Royal Oak, Bath 6/9/08. Near black in colour with a slight tan head. Aroma was full of roastiness with a hint of dark fruit. More of the same in the flavour, with a short bitter finish. Good stuff.

Cask handpull at The Ship & Mitre pub beer festival, Liverpool. Black, thin light tan head. Roasted malt aroma. Liquorice is there in mouth. More a dry rounded liquorice than sour as I was expecting. Slightly smokey too. Really a rather tasty stout. Lots going on. Very good liquorice, coffee, choc, bit of hop on end. Bitter. Good.

Cask (gravity) @ Marble Arch, Manchester M4, UK. Clear light to medium yellow color with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is light malty, toasted, moderate hoppy, lemon. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to short duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is flat. (180108)

Cask gravity at Nottingham BF 2007. Full of diacetyl. Too buttery. Odd minty flavour to it too. A buttery/minty strong mild. Hmmm, let me think about this. Not much of the malt comes through. Some choc.
