33cl bottle from Vinmonopolet Kiellandsplass. Pours clear copper coloured with a medium tanned head. Malty aroma with caramel, some bready and slightly fruity notes and hints of spices. Medium sweet with malty flavours and notes of dried fruits. Finishes lightly bitter. Quite well balanced and pleasant.

Small shortlasting head. Aroma is loaded with diacetyl, butterscotch, caramel malts, nuts, burnt caramel, cardboard, almonds. Taste is pretty much the same, butterscotch, burnt caramel, nuts, caramel malts, hay, almonds, paper. Medium bitterness, buttery mouthfeel. Crap!!

Delt flaske på Sigmunds hytte, april14: pen klar kobherfarge med kort skum. Beskjeden aroma og uinteressant smak. Litt diacetyl. Heldigvis kort ettersmak. Men gøy å være nr.3 til å rate denne!

[ As Balders Julebukk ].Clear medium amber color with a large to huge, frothy - creamy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, off-white to light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, vegetables, light chocolate. Flavour is moderate sweet with a long duration, vegetables, light chocolate, light spicy. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20140301]

Medium dark brown head. Opaque black body goes hazy deep dark brown at edges. Roasty chocolatey earthy aroma with banana and metal notes. Sweet-dry roasty earthy chocolatey taste with minty notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft, fluffy mouthfeel. Dry resiny mineraly aftertaste with roasty pine needle notes. It’s nice, harmonic, quite subtle, and drinkable, but perhaps a little bit too austere for top marks. (0.33l bottle, from wine monopoly web order.)
