Description
Home of delicious artisan juices, bubbly soft drinks, authentic sulphite free Devon cider and raw, unpasteurised apple cider vinegar. Traditionally produced on our South Devon family-run farm, the Heron Valley philosophy has always been ‘if in doubt, leave it out’, so we don’t put any added yeasts, sulphites or weird E-numbers into any of our drinks, and only use the best, natural, whole ingredients.

BIAB at York Beer & Cider Festival 2024. Coppery amber gold colour, no head and aroma of fruity apple, earthy hint. Taste is sweet and tart, apple, fleshy fruity, with some hints of oak, some funk and drying tannin. Medium bodied, low carbonation, dry tannic finish. Quite drinkable

Sample thanks to Grumbo: Poured a coppery with white bubble head. Aroma is funky apples, tannins. Taste is sweet apple, tannins, some acidic bite.

Sample thanks to Grumbo. Gold appearance with a faint mist. Aroma presents a nice apple sweetness. Taste is distinctly tart with a tangy acidity, soft underlying tannins and an appealing sweetness running throughout. Measured carbonation. Decent.

10/4/2020. Bottle from Darts Farm, near Topsham, Devon. Pours hazy/cloudy pale gold with a small bubbly white head. Aroma is appley, funky, citric, tannic and slightly woody. Nice medium sweet and tart mix on the nose and to taste. Moderate body, slightly oily, average carbonation. Very nicely done.

On keg at Bayard's Cove in Dartmouth. Appearance - yellow and still. Slight haze. Nose - fresh but not sweet apples. The merest hint of something yeasty and some apple skin. Taste - delicate and sweetly ripened apple. Palate - medium bodied and refreshingly balanced through middle and finish. Overall - very nice.

ABV: 6.0%. Cloudy medium yellow colour with a small, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy apple, sweet apples, light tart apple, apple pie. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, apple, sugary apples, apple pie. Body is medium, texture is watery, carbonation is flat. [20181020]

Cask @ Nottingham Beer Festival. Small head with short duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are nice tart apples, sulphur, fruits and has a nice sour and sweet finish.

On tap at The Cricket Inn, Kingsbridge, Devon. Pours unclear dark golden with a mere hint of loose white head. Aroma & flavour of soft fruity apple juice, moderately dry, lightly tart with low tannins. Maybe a hint of funk. Medium body, low carb, dry finish

500ml bottle from Scrattings. Hazy orange colour, short-lived thin white foamy head and aroma of juicy apple, funk, vinegar hint. Taste is ripe apple, sweet mellow fruity, with leathery, woody, vinegary funk, hay and some drying tannin. Light to medium bodied, soft to medium carbonation, dry fruity tart & tannic finish. Nicely drinkable.
