Keg at BD SB. It pours near black with a small beige head. The aroma is all about the coffee, sweet, energy roast, coffee cake, sweet, oily, wood, bark and dirt. The taste is dry, oily, earthy, wood, leather, charred wood, burnt toast, spice, pepper and chewy malt, umami ash with a drying finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Taste a touch burnt. Nice aroma anyhow.

I do not agree with the brewer here. Not really an Black ipa. Very chocolate, coffee and toffee dominated beer. More like a lovely powerful stout after a while..

Keg @ Black Lodge Brewery Bar, Liverpool. Black with a small creamy off-white head. Its cookie dough is light tasting but noticeable, and it does hides this ales strength to an extent.
