Bottle from Northumberland Gifts, online as 'Grace Darling Gold'. Murky golden brown with small nice looking white head. Aroma of grains, yeasty dough, floral and spicy notes. Taste is doughy, grainy, citric and light pine resinous feel, nice bitterness running through, hint of spice. Medium slightly creamy texture. Very good.

Bottle from Northumbrian Gifts. Pours a dark brown with moderate sized beige head. Aroma of coffee, dry roast, tangy fruits. Coffee comes through well in the taste, quite roasty, light creaminess with a hint of chocolate and tangy fruit. Light bodied and a little thin to hold flavours for long which is a shame as otherwise a good beer.

Bottle from Northumbrian Gifts. Cloudy orange gold with small foamy head. Fairly typical but pleasant aroma of citrus, passionfruit, flora, grains. Taste of citrus (lime rind and kumquat came to mind), pale malts. Quite tangy with bitter dry finish verging on astringent. Light to medium bodied, drying. Average but very drinkable.

Handpull cask at the Platform Bar, Hexham. Mid-gold, clear with a small white head. Light aroma, some Hay and a little bit of floral character. Lovely taste though: fairly intense bitterness cutting through any initial sweetness, with a good bitter finish. Light body, soft carbonation. Certainly decent.

500ml bottle shared with Finn after breakfast at Kiln. Pours a decent, beige bubbly head over a black deep ruby body, clingy lacing. Inviting aromas of roasted chocolate malts. Fine blended taste of oatmeal, chocolate, and a backdrop of liquorice. Roasted, semi-sweet dark malty end. Medium bodied. Nice. (Newcastle, 20.03.2024).
