Description
Established in 2017 in the most Eastern point of mainland Scotland, we brew our beers in small batches in the nautical town of Peterhead. At Brew Toon we are passionate about creating bold, adventurous craft beers, packed full of flavour and character. We strive to use local ingredients where ever possible and pride ourselves on this provenance.
Brew Toon was born out of a passion for brewing and craftsmanship in general.
Our brewery is based on a historic site in Peterhead, which was once home to "Hunter & Sons - Tanfield Brewery". This heritage is hugely important to us and massively influential in how we run our brewery today.

Can from Lupe Pintos. Clear golden body with a white head. Lively carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of flower petals and lemon. Flavour of sparkling mineral water and pine. Medium body with a slick texture. Soft fizz. A sharp IPA that’s strangely lacking in flavour.

Cask at the Fat Cat Brewery Tap, Norwich, 27/01/24. Clear golden blonde with a good sized lasting white head. Nose is mellow citric peel, grass, melon, tangerine. Taste comprises citric tinged straw, grass, papaya, melon, orange peel. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close splashed with mellow hop bitterness. Passable cask session affair.

Can from Fountainhall Wines, Aberdeen. It pours darkest brown to black with a decent khaki head. The aroma is fiery ginger beer, ginger snaps, vanilla, sweet yet savoury, Tonka, toasted marshmallow, chocolate and tunnocks teacake. The taste is slick, oily, roasted malt, bitter - sweet, gateaux , chocolate fudge cake, plenty of vanilla, marshmallow, gingerbread, fiery ginger nuts warming spice, ginger, touch of nutmeg, tonka bean and just a touch of alcohol with a slick finish. Fulsome body, fine+ carbonation and slick mouth feel. Was worried this would have been too sweet, but it strikes a nice balance.

Can picked up at Fountainhall Wines, Aberdeen. It pours lightly hazy yellow - blonde with a medium fluffy white head. The aroma is fresh, green, sweet tropical vibes, ripe honeydew melon, watermelon, papaya, lychee, pic n mix, flump and bubblegum. The taste is dry, bitter - sweet, green, weedy, slightly raw, ripe melon, papaya, twist of citrus, pithy, zesty, floury bread, slightly chalky, pic n mix and jelly tots with a dryish, green finish. Average body and fine carbonation. Has a certain green rawness to it that persists. Fair, but not sure I would return to it.

Can from Appellation Wines. Pours hazy yellow to orange with a thin white head. Aromas of pineapple, mango and pink grapefruit. Taste is more of the same. Could be more bitter, but it's good AF gear. Good body for the strength, and a lingering tropical fruit flavour.
