Description
Established in 2017 in the most Eastern point of mainland Scotland, we brew our beers in small batches in the nautical town of Peterhead. At Brew Toon we are passionate about creating bold, adventurous craft beers, packed full of flavour and character. We strive to use local ingredients where ever possible and pride ourselves on this provenance.

Brew Toon was born out of a passion for brewing and craftsmanship in general.

Our brewery is based on a historic site in Peterhead, which was once home to "Hunter & Sons - Tanfield Brewery". This heritage is hugely important to us and massively influential in how we run our brewery today.

Can picked up at JK Fine Foods, Aberdeen. It pours jet black with a decent off - white head. The aroma is dark roasted malt, charred, coffee grounds, dark chocolate, nutty and praline. The taste is smooth upfront, bitter - sweet, plenty of dark roasted malt, charred wood, umami, burnt toast, cacao nibs, coffee, chocolate covered coffee beans and a touch of peppery spice with a dairy roasted and drying finish. Average body, and fine, massaging carbonation. Decent in a cab, but would like to try the draught nitro version for sure.

Can picked up at JK Fine Foods, Aberdeen. It pours clear lime green with a sturdy bubbly white head. The aroma is sweet - sour, tangy, sugary, definitely has the soor ploom vibes, plum, greengage, boiled sweets, spun sugar, sweaty and damp grain. The taste is sweet - sour, juicy, tangy, sugary, some pucker, boiled sweets, green fruits, plum, greengage, kiwi, definite soor ploom character and damp grain with a tangy finish. Average body and soft, bubbly carbonation. Good fun. Certainly tastes likes Soor Plooms. Well realised.

Can from Appellation Wines. Appearance - mat black with a big beige coloured, foamy head. Nose - caramel, ginger, general sweet wood spice and some dark chocolate lurking. Taste - sweet spice, biscuit, spiced biscuits and molasses. Palate - medium bodied, roasty sweet and dry middle and finish. Overall - interesting, the ginger works ok, as it isn't too overpowering with this single, usually overpowering ingredient.
