Description
The Buckland Brewers is a small micro brewery in rural North Devon. We are on the edge of a small Site of Special Scientific interest. We use our own spring water, which is the biggest ingredient, and carefully sourced ingredients to produce small batches of continental style beers. We have a range of four beers available at the moment. More are being tested. Quality control and market research are crosses we brewers have to bear.

Third, gravicask, at the 22nd Oxford Beer & Cider Festival. Shared with Finn. Dark orange coloured body, fragile lacing, missing head. Smell of mid-sweet apricot. Blended taste profile of berries and yeasty fruitiness. Berry-fruity end, rather sweet, distant notes of alcohol. Approved. (25.10.2019).

330ml bottle from Dunster Village Deli watching England vs USA in the Women's World Cup. Pours misty gold, medium white head. Aroma has some vague floral notes, pale malt, light sweetness. Taste is similarly smudged floral notes, vague spice, lightly sweet malt.. not an unpleasant beer, but clearly a messy attempt at a witbier that needs a bit of work.

Bottle on the Looe Brush ... 47537 & 826 ... cheers to Nick or Dave I think, 03/02/19. Hazed light golden blonde with a decent off white covering. Nose is pale malts, straw, lemon rind, crackers. Taste comprises grass, hint of lemon, twiggy essence, toasted grains, light white peppery spice, candied orange peel. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Average affair and lacking depth for the ABV.

Cask-conditioned, on gravity, at Tewkesbury Winter Beer Festival, 1/2/2019. Hazy gold in colour, with a thin, off-white, head. Floral hops, some tangerine and peach fruit, yeasty malts and a dryish finish. Fine.

Cask at Pigs Ear 2018 - Hackney, London. Day 3. Pours unclear ruby-gold with a creamy white head. Rich Belgian yeast, bready malts, ripe berries, some caramel. Medium bodied, a little oily, with fine carbonation. Lightly warming finish, more prominent Belgian yeast, lightly toasted bread. Not bad.
