Gravity cask at Nottingham festival day two with fonefan, Charlotte & chriso. Clear bright golden yellow. Aroma of dusty haystacks. Taste is herbal lemon and hay. Interesting and unique.

Saturday 5th Sep 2015. CAMRA survey trip to the South part of East Shropshire, lovely pubs, lovely cask ales: but only one new beer for me, this one. Bus broke down before we got to the Bridgnorth Beer Festival, so one rate from the whole day. Anyway, this was a decent brew. Gold and bright in the afternoon sun, a wispy white half covering on top. Nice blend with a light malt lead in both the aroma and taste, biscuit and bread malt like in fact, with the hop content happy to play second fiddle. Mild citrus notes from the hops, but not too much as some around currently in the UK. I was pleased to come across this on an otherwise pretty wasted rating day.

Handpull cask at the White Lion, Bridgnorth. Golden brown, nicely clear with a fairly tight white head. Toast and hazelnut aroma with a touch of raspberry jam. Taste is quite sweet with a berry bitter-sourness in the back of the mouth. This is pretty good, and stands out a bit from so many standard English bitters out there. Lovely.

Cask at the White Lion, Bridgnorth. Light gold, clear. A slight ring of white head encircles the glass. Light aroma of malt and hay. Tastes better than the aroma would suggest: bittersweet, citrusy and a hint of tropical fruit hop. An adequate brew but hard to get excited about.

5.7% ABV version at the 24th Shrewsbury CAMRA Beer Festival on 6th Nov 2014. Light amber body with a wispy head. Light malts are drowned out by the hoppiness in the nose but come into their own in the taste which was semi-sweet with a bitter overtone. Easy to drink, alcohol well hidden, good lasting bitter finish.

Gravity poured cask at the Bridgnorth Beer Festival on 6th Sep 2014, some half mile from the brewpub it was produced at. Light amber body with a white crown. Easy drinking session ale with a good blend of both hop and malt flavours married together nicely to produce pleasant tasting bitter with enough flavour to please most: nothing strong or unusual, just a well made beer.

Gravity poured half-pint at the Birmingham CAMRA beer festival on 30th Oct 2013. Looked fine: amber to copper body with a full but thin head. Mild fruity nose with a grain note or two. The taste started off fruity and semi-malty, finishing with a dry and slightly bitter hop feel. OK and made a change from all the golden brews that were being drank around me.
