14/3/2019. Cask at the Leicester Beer Festival 2019. Pours unclear dark brown with a lasting bubbly beige head. Aroma of nut, malt, milk chocolate, dried fruit and dates plus the faintest of blackberry Medium sweetness, light to moderate bitterness. Moderate body, slight oily and watery texture, soft carbonation. The blackberry is very subtle.

Handpull cask at the Criterion, Leicester. Mid- to dark gold and clear with a scummy white head on top. It's got a light aroma, mostly wet stale biscuit, metal, astringency. Works in the mouth though, as the medicinal character keeps it from becoming too sweet. Some gluey resin in the aftertaste. Not great.

6/11/2018. Bottle from Brewklopedia, Leicester. Pours very dark brown with minimal head. Aroma of aniseed, chocolate, cough medicine, dandelion and burdock, clove, black treacle, dark fruits and Christmas cake spices. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness. Medium to full bodied, sticky texture, soft carbonation. Liked this.
