Inspired by the Wiltshire landscape surrounding us, we work towards being the most sustainable brewery that we can be. Most importantly, when we began and with the right tools in our hands, we knew that we could create a mighty fine pint. A small team then set about with a vision for handcrafting ales from plough to pint. Using barley from our fields and chalk-filtered water from our own source, we’re bigger and bolder than we were then, but with the same knowledge that nothing quite beats the taste of a decidedly good pint after a long day.

Cask at the Rose & Crown, Sandhurst. Bright amber with a loose white head; malty aroma with some grassy hops; sweet caramel malt taste with a light herbal bitterness; and a dry finish. A perfectly acceptable Ordinary Bitter - unlike the performance of our team in 2014!

Cask @ The Hop, Wakefield. Golden with a creamy head. Has a berry sweet aroma although more neutral in taste and a touch thin.

Cask at The Shoulder of Mutton, Wantage, Oxon 6th March 2014 Pours conker brown, regarding the truffle in the name I don’t have a clue about this beer but I do consider it a bit earthy and with more than a mushroomy nod (I’m sure that the truffle is probably more chocolate than fungal) A little bitterness, some chewiness perhaps a little caramel. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov14 3.4

Dark copper caramel colour with a lasting greyish head. Aroma is caramel light spicy nutmeg nutty raisin. Flavour is raisin dried fruit apple caramel and light spicynes in the finish. Decent palate light sweetness.

Cask at The Charlie Hall; dark amber pour with beige head, fruity aroma, taste had berries with malt action and caramel.

Cask at the Cleveland Arms, QPLG triangle, 20/12/13. Clear amber with a moderate light beige head that retains well. Nose is bready malts, light spice, fruit tang. Taste comprises biscuit crumble, bread dough, fruit notes, toffee. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, light bitterness in the closure. So so bitter, not much going on but a drinkable affair none the less.

Cask gravity at Kipps Alehouse Folkestone. Clear pale gold thin white head. Touch of fruit salad and rubber on the aroma. Rubber and hay hop on finish. Quite dry. Too much rubber to be drinkable.

Appearance: Deep yellow colour with a small white head.
Aroma: Fruit, malt, citrus, grass.
Body: Medium body, low carbonation.
Flavour: Fruit, citrus, hops, some spices.
