Description
The New Old Lompoc opened on May 6th, 2000. But the Old Lompoc Brewery (as it was formerly know) has been producing handcrafted ales and lagers since December 1996, while the tavern has been open since 1993.

The name originally came from the movie ‘The Bank Dick’ starring W.C. Fields and Mae West. Most of the movie took place in the ‘Old Lompoc House’, which was the local watering hole as well as a boarding house.

Our food menu is an excellent array of Northwest pub fare with a great selection of entrees, soups and salads. We have also remodeled the patio and added a sun deck.

This was poured into an English pint glass.
The appearance was a glossy burnt orange color with a slim finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipates to a thin cap of a head. Moderate trickling lacing.
The smell takes a sweet lemon pulp and blends with a moderate burst of grapefruit pulp. Nice level of bitterness for the most part. Adequate pulpy sweetness.
The flavor takes all of the previously mentioned aromas to round out in a bittersweet pulpy sort of way. Juiciness is somewhat there. Delicate malt underneath. Dry poignant grapefruity aftertaste and sly sweet finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body. Nice balanced harshness hits all around.
Overall, really good AIPA that I would have again.

Lompoc old tavern rat 9% on tap at Imazato. A deep red with a nice beige head of foam. The aroma is plums and rich raisins. Full malty mouthfeel with a rich chewy malt character, raisins, stone fruit and some caramel sweetness. Solid.

From a 650ml bottle on 8/3/2016. Pours a darkish golden with a biggih white head. Has a light, spritzy citrus aroma. In the mouth, there’s light caramel malt, lots of sharp lemon, and a touch of grapefruit. The hops are pretty firm, with a bit of a salty note at the back. Full bodied with average carbonation. A decent IPA, but could be a bit better balanced for mine.

Port Barrel Aged Cimmerian 8% Pint at Imazato. A cola black with ruby accents and a cherry coke, mild oak and malt aroma. Medium bodied. The flavor is sweet port, vanilla, mild oak and smooth with a bit of heat. This was very drinkable and as it warmed up became more flavorful but retained a wonderful balance.
