Description
The New Old Lompoc opened on May 6th, 2000. But the Old Lompoc Brewery (as it was formerly know) has been producing handcrafted ales and lagers since December 1996, while the tavern has been open since 1993.
The name originally came from the movie ‘The Bank Dick’ starring W.C. Fields and Mae West. Most of the movie took place in the ‘Old Lompoc House’, which was the local watering hole as well as a boarding house.
Our food menu is an excellent array of Northwest pub fare with a great selection of entrees, soups and salads. We have also remodeled the patio and added a sun deck.

Tap at Imazato. Nose of pine, caramel. Quite old school. Dark amber. Pine and caramel, rather high carbonation. Ok but not much happening here.

Tap at Imazato in Osaka. A deep reddish brown with a stone fruit and pine hop bouquet. Medium bodied, raspy mouthfeel and semi-dry finish. The taste is spicy rye malt, fruity hops and caramel. Solid.

Tap at Imazato. Lightly funky yeast nose, cranberry, bread. Deep orange-golden color with a low head. Nice tartness, a bit heavy on the malt, full. Yeast not so interesting.

Tap at Imazato. A milky Amber orange with a medium body snd zesty carbonation. I get tartness, coriander, wheat dust, hon s of coriander. Not terribly saison or cranberry but it’s alright though I expected more for a beer of which only one keg made it to Japan.

I’m pretty sure this is a bottle imported in the 2015 Halloween season. A dark black with a thick beige head. It’s got a really good roasty doughy chocolate bun aroma. Medium bodied, it’s got a raspy carbonation and a rich roasty chocolate with nutty notes. A good fall brew with a Halloween name so a nice alternative to spicy pumpkin ales.

Bottle from Mitsuya Liquors. Pours a deep copper with a finger of head. Loads of caramel and orange in the nose, but the malt really takes over as it warms. I get malt candy (gobstoppers) all over the nose. Almost like a malt shake. Some light cardboard and light funkiness in the background (slight brett issue I assume). Probably not in the best condition honestly. Malty finish. Meh. --- Beer merged from original tick of C-Note on 27 Aug 2016 at 22:24 - Score: 6. Original review text: It's not bad, big definitely old school PNW styled IPA....boozy to boot. Meh.

This was poured into a becher pint glass.
The appearance was a slight hazy burnt orange to off sort of brown color. Slim finger’s white foamy head starts and dissipates at a nice pace. Messy lace occurs as the head dissipates.
The smell starts off with a sly citrus hoppiness. Subtle pine notes glide into a sweet malt base. Somewhat dry, with a sticky hoppiness coming in.
The flavor takes in all of the previously mentioned flavors sliding together sweetly. Bitterness shows a sly \"oomph\" slyly and riding on into the finish (kinda sticky).
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body. Fair sessionability to it. Sly carbonation.
Overall, very nicely done AIPA, I could see myself coming back to this.
