The name originally came from the movie ‘The Bank Dick’ starring W.C. Fields and Mae West. Most of the movie took place in the ‘Old Lompoc House’, which was the local watering hole as well as a boarding house.
Our food menu is an excellent array of Northwest pub fare with a great selection of entrees, soups and salads. We have also remodeled the patio and added a sun deck.

Bottled. Poured dark brownish red. Smallish head. Lots of malts and caramel. Kind of watery. Reminded me more of a dunkel or something.

Tap at Hopa. Deep brown pour, off-white head. Nose is chocolate, toffee and dark malts. Taste chocolate again, a bit earthy, malty. Closes with a surprisingly thin, almost watery finish, has light body and average carbonation.

From tap at BeerTemple, Amsterdam. Roasty and chalky aroma with coffee, dark malt, dark chocolate, and some caramel. Nicely roasty Porter, fairly bitter and light sweet, medium body. Solid allround classic Porter.

From tap at BeerTemple, Amsterdam. Aroma is sweet malt with oak, caramel toffee, figs, notes of Port, some darkish fruits. Sweet and relatively bitter flavour, medium to full body. Good Port BA (not too in-your-face) and the base BarleyWine is obviously solid.

From tap at BeerTemple, Amsterdam. Aroma is strong barrel notes with oak, red wine, lots of raisins as well. Malt, red grapes, am I picking up some vanilla? Mild sweet flavour with a hint of tartness. Body is medium. Heavy wine barrel, pleasant stuff.

From tap at BeerTemple, Amsterdam. Aroma has strong white wine influence with tart grapes, notes of apple and some farmhouse yeast. Tartish and light sweet flavour, medium body. Quite vinous, refreshing.

On tap stadsbrouwhuis. Strange since the brewery has been closed for 2 years. Pours a dark red, small fine head. Aroma is herbal, medicinal, hops, grain. Medium body. Flavour is malty, not sweet, light oak, very marginal port notes, again medicinal. This is weird, but the more I have of it, the more I like it... But odd.

Very smooth barley wine. This is aged at 2013 though so go figure. Root, marmalade and sweet tobacco. Hazy orange pour with great head. Bittersweet and boozy end, with notes of lingering citrus. Apparently they closed, so this was one of those last drinks for the departed. Tap at Horse Brass.
