About
Founded in 2016 by James Ward, Lough Gill Brewing Company aims to restore the lost tradition of brewing to Sligo town, a small town that once hosted 5 breweries. The idea stemmed from an ever-growing passion for brewing delicious beer and a unique opportunity of various skill sets and business synergy.

Panda courtesy of Theydon_Bois, cheers Colin! Black colour with reddish tint, some shortlived bubbles on top and aroma of malt, roasted, whisky barrel, liquorice, dark chocolate, booze. Taste is roasted dark malty, peaty, whisky, oak barrel, chocolate, liquorice, with smokey salty bitterness. Oily mouthfeel, full bodied, low carbonation, woody boozy finish. Nicely drinkable

Can, 10%. Salt liquorice aroma. Black colour. Big semi-stable light brown head. The flavour is salty to begin with, syrupy with a bitter alcohol note. Thick and syrupy mouthfeel. In-your-face and unpolished. Could do with less alcohol and perhaps more time.

Nose is rich roast, dried red berry whisper, mellow barrel, molasses, chocolate shavings.
Taste comprises chocolate, molasses, brown sugar melt, light smoked tones, barrel, honeycomb.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost.
Solid complex sipper and goes down relatively easily for 14.4%!
