Panda thanks to Cloin. A what now? Not sure what this style is supposed to be?! Anyways - pretty much a clear dark brown beer, small bubbly darkish tan head. Light, especially for the abv, palate, semi dry, decent fine minerally carbonation. Thin bodied dark malts, a thinnish dark malt cream, dark chocolate and fairly rich fruity coffee. The barrelling adds rich fruity whiskey, which goes well with the base beer. A fairly light and smooth finish. Very drinkable for the wine level abv. All the elements come together very well. Certainly nothing out the ordinary style wise but, just an intrinsic rightness about this one. Very tasty

Panda thanks to Cloin. Near clear dark brown beer, small bubbly tan head. Palate manages to be both light and mildly viscous. It's also a little dry and has a good fine minerally crispness. For a brew of this ilk, the dark malts are pretty thin bodied but, not lacking in flavour. Bitterish cocoa and a little earthy coffee. The whiskey barrel adds whiskey soaked dark fruits and a bit of alcohol spice. Airy and semi dry finish. A full on BA Impy with not a jot of sweetness, which makes a refreshing change. Wouldn't want a whole bottle though.

Can to snifter.
Appearance: dark brown in the pour but more of black color in the glass, no head, and no lace
Aroma: huge amount of whiskey barrel, subtle whiffs of oatmeal, coffee sweetness, coffee roastiness, light treacle, dark bread and some caramel tones
Flavor: blends all the prior notes together sweetly and roasty; mild aftertaste of the coffee, whiskey barrel and oatmeal
Texture: medium bodied, great sipper; some smoothness along the tongue; finishes roasty, toasty and whiskey barrel
Overall: another very nice imperial stout very worthy of coming back to.

Can to snifter.
Appearance: black in the pour and black in the glass with a small tan foamy head which dissipated inward and left some light concave lace
Aroma: coffee sweetness, coffee roastiness, dark toast, whiskey barrel woodiness, earthy hints, pecans and a touch of vanilla
Flavor: the aromas are wonderfully blended together sweetly and roasty leading into a mild aftertaste of barrel, vanilla and coffee
Texture: medium bodied, great sipper! some smoothness along the tongue but not too much; finishes with the barrel, coffee and vanilla
Overall: ahhhh, yeah, there we go, the really good stuff by this brewer, I definitely would seek this one out again!

Can to tulip.
Appearance: dark brown close to black in color with a one and a half fingers of khaki foamy head which slid off nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: coffee sweet, some coffee roastiness, milk chocolate, dark chocolate, light cream, barely any coconut (but it's there, somehow)
Flavor: takes all the prior noted aromas to blend sweetly and roasty; mild aftertaste of the coffee
Texture: light to medium bodied, nice sipper, mild roastiness flows over my tongue; finishes roasty and smooth
Overall: I liked it for me but honestly, if "coconut" is in the name shouldn't be more than just a "glimmer" in the aroma? Eh, no worries, I think I could come back to this.

Can to becher glass.
Appearance: black in color in the glass with a two and a half fingers of eggshell white foamy head which slid off nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: big coffee beans - sweet, bitter and earthy rounded out with some milk chocolate and then a delicate earthy hoppiness underneath
Flavor: roasty, bitter and earthy up front then subtle earthy to spicy hops underneath; barely any aftertaste but seemed somewhat earthy and bitter
Texture: medium bodied, between sessionable and being a sipper; roastiness grabs some of the sweetness to prevent from being too smooth but this isn't watery - it sits just right! finishes coffee forward roasty toned with a delicate earthy backing
Overall: pretty nicely done coffee stout I would welcome again.

Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity and a bit roastyaroma of caramel, nuts, some whisky and light red fruits. Gently sweet, malty, moderately bitter, slightly fruity and a bit roasty taste of caramel, chocolate, toasted nuts, some whisky and light red fruits, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, a little woody-dry finish.
